Greetings all! I am pictured here calmly observing my surroundings in the outdoor cattery here at Forever Kittens Cattery. I am quite at peace here. So, I suppose you are wanting to know the details of my announcement! I am pregnant! Due within 3 weeks or so! My babies will be the first poly-toed babies born here at Forever Kittens. Humom is very excited to see my first litter. I may go past my due date just to torment her. I am very much hoping that they all look just like me. I shall be a fine mother, teaching my babies the finesse of hunting the toy on a stick, demanding extra food, and of course chip stealing! Humom has been extra generous with the treats lately too. I think she wants me to get fat! Nothing like carrying poly toed babies around here to get me even more spoiled! I think I may like this whole pregnancy thing. It has not hindered my ability to stalk the cat toys, or climb onto the top of the shower rod, so all is well. Did you know my nick name is Polly? Yep, mom calls me "Polly" so often that I think she thinks it's my name. We all know my name is really Winnifred. However, I do have to let the humans have their silly whims sometimes. Because of my kind and very generous nature, I let it slide. Ah well, that is enough chatting for today, I simply wanted to show off my glorious new figure and let all of my loyal fans in on my wonderful news.

Update! All of our 1/2 Persian kittens are now reserved! This boy is our only remaining kitten available. The others have all been reserved to great homes. This little boy is simple adorable with his blue, blue eyes and rounded little face. He is one of my favorites in this litter. Very sweet and cuddly boy, and he purrs! I love it when they purr at an early age. I have had so much fun with this oops litter:) He is pictured here at 7 weeks old. This is Mooshie, my CFA/TICA Registered Persian cat. Mooshie is normally a very monogamous Tom Cat. He really is, he had to live with his wife Layla for over a year before he would consent to breed with her. He like romance, taking his time, doing things right. He can be surrounded by girl kitties and he ignores them all in favor of his wife. Mooshie is always a gentleman, he doesn't spray, he doesn't bite, he is never mean to the kitties. Unless you count bathing them as being mean to them. Though the kittens may beg to differ on the bathing aspect, he feels he is just doing is fatherly duty in helping out mom. He is a great kitten sitter, and always a big ham. He does have his downfalls, I am sure Elsa would be more than happy to tell you all about it. He believes in the great tomato, you see he LOVES tomatoes, eats them any chance he can get. On spaghetti night, he will sing "Ol McDonald had a Farm" just to get the sauce. I am not kidding, I will video it and post it when I can. Mooshie believes that if he catches the great tomato, he will be blessed with as many tomatoes as he can eat for a lifetime. He is always on a quest to capture the great tomato. But I digress..... These kittens are by my CFA Registered Persian Male Mooshie... and my TICA Registered Highlander female. While they are quite adorable ~ with doll faces and some have the curled ears....they were an oops breeding. My ever monogamous male Persian suddenly found himself attracted to my blue eyed Highlander female. Thanks to a few open doors, and some oversights on my part...I now have this amazing litter! I have been pleasantly surprised by the positive response that these kittens have produced! Than again...who doesn't love a Persian with curled ears right? These kittens will not have the full Persian coat. They will grow up to have plush hair and be very low maintenance in regards to brushing. They are very laid back and gentle, even in their play. They will do well in most any environment, as they have the adaptability of the Highlander and the low-key nature of the Persian. I may have accidentally invented the perfect cat! We only have four of these amazing babies left available for adoption. They are ALL males, with ONE exception, the smaller, lighter, cream and white kitten with blue eyes and slightly curled ears is our only little girl. The kittens pictured above are the ones that are still available for adoption.
Kittens can not leave here until they are 12 weeks old. This is in order to ensure both sets of shots and time to recover from the shots before sending them out into the world. It also gives them plenty of time with mama and they can be properly litter trained, socialized (with humans, other cats, children and two large dogs) and eating dry food without mixing in wet food or water. You will receive a healthy, happy, well socialized baby to add to your home. Kittens will be ready for their forever home approximately on July 31st after vet clearance. If are approved, and you choose a kitten, and put down a deposit, you can then let me know the name you have chosen for your kitten and we will start addressing your kitten by his or her name right away. We will then send you an adoption agreement/health guarantee, and a spay/neuter contract. Both are to be filled out and signed and sent back via email or fax. An electronic typed signature if fine. Or you can print/scan/ send...whatever your preference. We ask for a $100 deposit to hold the kitten in your name. The total adoption fee is $200.00, this covers the vet exams, shots, de-worming, health checks and maintenance for both mama and kittens. They will have both sets of shots and two de-wormings ~ along with lots of other information. Impulse is my black highlander male. He is the father of all the Purebred Highlander kittens. He loves everyone and everything. He is incredibly smart. He will do anything for the reward of more human attention. That being said, I decided I should teach him to jump through a hoop. If those big Lions can do it a the circus why not my domestic Highlander? Impulse follows me everywhere I go while I am outside. He is much more loyal than my Lab who will wander off at any given moment. Impulse stays right by my side at all times. I think he is secretly believing that he is the great protector and saving me from whatever lurks in the shadows...you know like those evil mouse gangs and such. Anyway, we decided to record Impulses progress on his "Hoop Training" So below you see his first day learning how to jump through hoops. I would say this is not bad at all for his very first time! I will keep you posted on his progress! This is the father of Creamella's purebred Highlander kittens, Razie, Jabari, Dija and Little Abeni. ** Little side note *** the other cat you see in the video is Queen Elsa, who refuses to "preform like a circus seal." However, she does admire Impulse's great skill. Greetings all, I am the lovely, and charming Poly-toed Winnifred, future Queen here at Forever Kittens Cattery. Don't let my wild look fool you...we are bred to look wild, I have a heart of gold. I love the children that come to visit here sometimes, I often snuggled up with them while they watch movies and eat popcorn...if I wave at them, they share the popcorn! I find that human children are easily trained to share. If I chirp at humom she sometimes shares. Humom eats these cheesy potato chips that I adore...If she does not share, then I try the wave of my paw. If that does not work, when she turns away I steal the whole bag of chips. Curiously, she seems to catch me during my getaway every time. I should tell you about the photo above so that you are not frightened of my awesome wild looks...you see, on what humom calls "picture day" here at the cattery, she brings out the most wonderful magic stick....it contains a feather, a toy and it smells like cat nip! Oh JOY! how I DO love picture day! Humom has close me out of the photo room while she takes pictures of the silly kittens. (I hiss at them) I paw anxiously at the door until she is finished so I can have my chance at the magic stick! When the above photo was taken, I was chirping adoringly at the magic stick so that it would drop it's birdie/toy/cat nip thing with in my poly-toed reach! Humom got some pictures of my great capture also! See below.. Aside from my great skills as a hunter and chip thief, I have much more to bring to the table when I have offspring. For one, my glorious Polydactyl feet, I am the only cat here that has them you know.
Sure, sure, Queen Elsa is the one that every one talks about and swoons over ~ because she has been here the longest ~ but she doesn't have poly-toes! I can open Mountain Dew bottles with my poly-toes. "Mwhahahaha"...Humom hates that. I also, open cabinets and turn on the water faucets. I had humom convinced that bathroom was haunted because I kept turning on the sink faucet...that is until she caught me...sneaky humom! I still turn on the faucet, but it's not as much fun now that humom knows it's me. I also play in our water bowl...I splash in it with my big poly-feet and get water everywhere! Then I blame the dogs. I also like to scale the shower curtain and balance upon the curtain rod while the humans shower. They always act surprised when I reach out and play in the shower spray from utop the curtain rod. This just goes to prove that I have mad skills as a cat! I do love it here at Forever Kittens, but I have one complaint...humom refuses to let me outside without what she calls "supervision" I don't know what this supervision is all about, but I do know that follows me around and spys on everything I do while I am outside. I get no privacy! I climbed a tree the other day and she offered me treats to come back down again. Turns out she is easy to train also... Anyway, looking forward to having my first litter of kittens sometime here at Forever Kittens Cattery, look for them (and me) in the future! Signed....the lovely "Winnifred of Forever Kittens. Once upon a time, in a land far far away there lived three little Highlanders. Highlanders are cat like creatures, with the ability to act like a dog, a cat, a mouse or sometimes even a human. They are notoriously cute, cuddly, playful animals. It all started when the Highlanders were first formed. There was the very first Highlander, not very spectacular really, very cat like in appearance, almost to the point that everyone thought she was “just” a normal cat. Her name was Mendacia. Very few were able to detect that Menacia was actually, a Higlander. Mendacia was a liar, through and through, the art of her deception was so skilled, so advanced, that there was hardly a discernable trace. Mendacia would play fetch like a dog with the local children, laughing to herself whilst they called “Here puppy! Puppy” to her when she returned the toy they had tossed for her. For all the world, her body language said “Dog” so the children saw DOG. Sometimes, in order to protect herself from harm, Mendacia would open her eyes very wide, and sit very still and look imploringly into the eyes of the human she was interacting with. The humans, witnessing such emotion in the blue, blue eyes of Mendacia saw HUMAN. They would then share their food with her, and their warm fires in the winter time. Mendecia did not limit her game play to the humans, oh no, she had convinced many a mouse that she too, was a very small harmless mouse by crouching low, and moving slowly so as not to arouse suspicion. The mice that were observing the small, at ease creature, saw “MOUSE”….right before they were eaten. Mendacia went about her days happily using her wiles to deceive all whom she came in contact with, normally being seen as Cat. Yes, Mendacia was happy. The Gods of the realm were not. This was getting out of control! Perhaps if they were to give Mendicia a play mate she would be content to play her games with only her play mate and not the entire population. Thus, was born upon this far away land, Piaculum. Piaculum was created just for Mandacia to work her intricate arts of deception upon. Deceive she did, with utter joy and satisfaction. Piaculum was the perfect match for Mandacia. The humans, mice and other creatures were no longer bothered by Mandacia. Now, both creatures, appear as CAT to all that saw them or heard them, or even heard about them. However, a peculiar thing happened, Piaculum lost about three quarters of her cat-tail. How could this be? Wondered the Gods of the the realm. Why would this happen? After some investigation, they saw that Piaculum was so very good at her job, that her one vanity, her one piece of beauty that had remained untouched by Mandacia's cruel and hateful deceptions....had all but disappeared! Piaculum was left with but 1/4 of her cat tail. This 1/4 tail was to remain as a reminder to the Gods of Mendecia's great power. You see, Piaculum was a lovely, sweet thing, always submissive, always kind almost to the point of martyrdom. The one thing that she had saved for herself she had let go in favor of continuing the role that had been set before her. Again, the Gods were not happy. They thought upon the matter for quite some time. They decided that the best way to contain Mandacia and her antics was to place in her path the opposite of what she loved to do. Whereas Piaculum was quite s benefit the other creatures, it wasn’t of huge benefit to Piaculum herself to be the only one to receive the attentions of Mandacia. Once again, the Gods created. This time they created something of such mystery, such valor, such grace and honor that it was undefeatable, even by Mandacia. They created…Veritas! Oh Veritas was an intriguing creature. Something none of the others had seen before. Something, never experienced before. For every game that Mandacia played, Veritas could play twice as well! Veritas was never seen in any form but his very own ~ though curious and magnificent it was. When Mandacia played Dog, Veritas played Dog ~ in his true form. The children no longer saw Mandacia as Dog, but only cat, only simple cat with a curious penchant for fetch. When they gazed upon Veritas in his own curious form, they would smile and say this one, this one “High above the other in honor, for he does not choose to deceive us.” When Mandacia attempted to play tricks upon Piaculum there was Veritas in the middle, showing his true form, thus reducing Mandacia to Cat yet again. When Mandacia attempted to show MOUSE to the mice, they saw only Veritas in his true form, and said amongst themselves “This creature comes from a land not like our own” Thus, the very form the Highlander had become synonymous with Veritas. Though Mandacia was the first known Highlander due to his birth right, and our lovely Piaculum had become the second known form of the Highlander, the most renowned and magnificent form of the Highlander is that of Veritas! It is a little known secret that the Highlander was so revered for his feats that he was summoned to our very land here on Earth with us. The greatest form of Highlander, Veritas, can be seen here today. If you keep your eyes open and your ears peeled for the feats of Veritas, you shall see one of his descendants. Mayhap in interact with him or her. Maybe, just maybe if you are wise enough, and sincere enough, you may come to have one of Veritas wonderful descendants in your very own home. You see, the descendents of the Highlander Veritas have a very special look and very special characteristics. They have curled ears, as a reminder to be ever vigilant in seeking the truth and displaying it, they have a short tail as a reminder of our Piaculum and her sacrifice for her friend Mandacia, and they always appear in the true Highlander form. The descendants of Veritas come in many colors, however the most favored are those of the wild cat, such as black, snow, or spotted. They can be seen playing fetch like a dog, playing in water like a duck, walking on a harness like a horse, crouching very low like a mouse, or sitting very still like a cat. If you are deemed worthy; a descendant of Veritas will indeed present him or herself to you. Be honored, be truthful, and know that whenever and wherever there is a liar, and a lie-ee, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Here you see a photo of a descendant of Varitas! A Highlander Cat it's true form. Here you see a descendant of Varitas caught in the act of playing fetch with a small mouse like toy....in true Highlander form. So, today twas the very first day that I let Elsa's kittens outside. It was sunny, slight breeze, nice and warm. An irresistible day for kittens to be outside!
I put the kittens and Elsa in the outdoor cattery with Impulse. I have the perfect view of the cattery from my office window. As I was dusting the desk, I glanced outside at the cattery. Impulse was behaving in a rather odd manner. In fact....he was acting just like I have seen a hawk act when it has pray. He was bent over in what appeared to be a domineering manner, and it almost looked like he was eating something I went into panic mode. "OH NO! He's killing one of the kittens!" I dropped my dusting clothe ran outside and turned the corner just in time to see Impulse carrying the kitten in his mouth by the scruff of the neck. I had heard of the male cat killing the kittens before, but not Impulse he and the kittens always hang out. However, he is older this year. It is spring...maybe hormones took over. Of-course from my vantage point, the scene before me was that of a vicious killer. He carried the kitten into the hidey-hole box I have out there for them. Naturally, my imagination took over as I raced to the cattery door. Impulse was still in the box.... Once inside the cattery, I walked very slowly, filled with trepidation to the hidey-hole box. I absently wondered where in the world Elsa was and why she wasn't valiantly protecting her helpless 7 week old kittens. When I reached the box, I held my breath fully expecting to open it up and see a sad, sad massacre. Instead, I found purring Impulse cuddled up with all of the kittens sleeping peacefully next to him and Elsa next to them. Elsa didn't even bother to raise an eyelid when I opened the box. Impulse on the other hand was beaming at me with pride. Quite happy with himself for saving the the "escapee" from the big bad world, and returning him to the safety of the box. I was skeptical, I checked over said purring kitten with squinted eyes and accusing glances at the purring Impulse. Elsa yawned at me and stretched out to show her disdain at the interruption of her nap time. All kittens were in one piece and perfectly happy and healthy. Dusk, the kitten in question was not even wet where he had been carried. The jerking movements I had witnessed from the window were Impulse figuring out how to carry a kitten without hurting it. The kittens never did leave the box today. I suspect that Impulse kept them in there for observation until I came back outside this evening to bring them back inside for the night. He lay in-front of the box all day. They will go back outside again tomorrow. So cool that I got to witness lion-like behavior from my little wild looking domestic cats! Highlanders are awesome! I feel like what I saw today is the epitome of the breed. .. so I just got home from the vet...The dogs haven't been let out of their crates yet. They were doing the "happy sounds" because they heard me. I sat down here first. Then...the dogs start doing the "Someone is here and they shall die" sounds. (I figured it was the fed ex guy) After several minutes I don't hear any fed ex guys big truck. (shrug) THEN...I hear what sounds like a human, pretending to bark like a dog out side my window to the left. My ACTUAL dogs are now curiously silent. I sneak back to the grooming room where the dogs are crated. I am still hearing the barking outside my window. Even MORE curiously, the dogs are not super happy excited when they see me? I am now slightly panicked and I rush to open the doors and let them outside. (Whoas be to whomever is doing that, because Doom WILL eat them.) Not surprisingly, I don't hear the pretend barking anymore as we make our way to the door that leads to outside. The dogs still are not being their hyper selves. I open the door and usher the dogs outside, fully expecting them to do the customary~ !rush outside barking as if the world is on fire because a leaf blew across the yard and is a huge threat to our very existence! ~ thing that they normally do when they had been barking only 5 minutes before hand. Nope...they sedately went outside as if I were the falling down on the job. Hmmm, figures my very first blog post would be a creepy one. It IS a full moon tonight....OH YIKES! Come to think of it, it's the blood moon tomorrow night! Oh for joy. Ah well, Welcome to the Adventures on WindyHill! Typical day at the Vet for Elsa's kittens Born on April 3rd, 2014. PS ~ I am sure Queen Elsa will have something to say about the whole "Vet Visit" today...and I think I will ask her to explain how Persian Highlander cross kittens came about as well!
